More about what it does

These are the common ‘inside routes’.  Depending upon your intended passage, the Estuary contains sands that must either be crossed (the Long Sand, the Sunk Sand and the Buxey/Gunfleet Sands) or skirted (the Margate, the East Barrow, Maplin and Foulness Sand or the Cork Sand.

No single journey will encounter all of these but most journeys will meet one or more. The route guidance includes details of waypoints providing sectors that match the time planning charts, discusses hazards and features to be considered and provides detailed information on track direction, distance and waypoints.

This information will help you select the best route for your purposes and provide you with the detail you require.
